Youth Camp 2013

Last May 14-17, we attended the 9th Baptist Youth Camp. There were a total of twenty-three from our church who made the five hour journey to Calauan, Laguna. The theme for this year's camp was “God’s Word In Our World". The theme verse was 1 John 2:15: "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him."

I was able to speak during one of the divided session on Thursday morning. I spoke to the 1st and 2nd year high school students about peer pressure.

The campers were split up into four different groups: Readers of the Word, Doers of the Word, Hearers of the Word, and Learners of the Word. The days were packed with many different activities. We started each day with morning exercise/devotions at 6:00 a.m. We ate a filling breakfast and then headed to the auditorium for the morning session. After we ate lunch, there were group activities, competitions, and team building exercises. After that, everyone had an opportunity to take an afternoon siesta or use their free time to go swimming, play basketball, volleyball, soccer, or just sit around and talk. Following our evening meal, we headed back to the auditorium for the night session which included singing (our group sang "There is Nothing Greater than Grace"), special presentations, cheering, and preaching. When the evening session was finished, everyone stayed up to fellowship and enjoy the company of the other campers.

Please continue to pray for the young people of our church. Please pray that they will always look to the unchanging Word of God for direction and guidance in the middle of a constantly changing world.

God Bless,

-Matt, Rina, & Liam-

Mother's Day 2013

On May 12th we celebrated Mother’s day. There were over 20 mothers in attendance and each mom received a small gift given by the church. After the service, we enjoyed a special lunch that some of the men helped to prepare and serve in honor of all the mothers. It was a great celebration and we are very thankful for all that our mothers have done for us!

God Bless,

-Matt, Rina, & Liam-

Vacation Bible School 2013

Last week we had our annual Vacation Bible School (VBS). This year our theme was “Bug Zone…Transformed by Our Big God.” We are especially grateful to Belmont Bible Church for kindly donating their VBS materials for us to use here in the Philippines for our VBS .

This year's VBS was our busiest yet. We had an average attendance of over 200 kids per day. Tuesday was the biggest we've ever had with 226 kids! Every day saw kids returning and also new kids attending for the first time. All in all there were over 300 different children, ages 4-13, who registered for VBS this year. We are thankful for the opportunity we had to share the love of Jesus with them!

Every day was packed with different activities. Our program officially started at 8:30am and finished before lunchtime. Each day the kids enjoyed story time, memorizing Bible verses, snacks, games, crafts, singing, and awards.

We are so thankful for each of the volunteers from our church who helped make this VBS a success. Also, thank you to all of you who prayed for God's blessing and protection. We ask that you please continue to pray for these children as we look to continue to share the gospel and minister to them. We hope you enjoy the pictures!

God Bless,

Matt, Rina, and Liam
