May Recap

It has been a busy month of May. Here are some of the highlights…

Some of the ladies of our church held a surprise baby shower for Rina. They all pitched in to buy a complete care baby bath center. We are thankful for their kindness and generosity. Next month, God willing, we will be able to use it.

On Mother’s Day we had 44 mothers who attended the morning service. Each mother received a rose, a fan, and chocolate. We were also able to surprise Ma'am Dulce with a bouquet of flowers and a picture frame that the church people had signed for her. It was just a simple way to say thank you to her for her faithfulness at the church during the past 10 years.

We had 15 people that were baptized on Sunday morning. In the weeks leading up to the baptism, I, along with their Sunday School teachers, sat down and spent some time talking with each one to make sure that they understood what the purpose of baptism was. It is a joy to know that they expressed their desire to follow the Lord in obedience and be baptized. Please pray that they will continue to grow in their faith and serve the Lord.

After our Sunday evening service, we were able to pass out school notebooks for our church kids from kindergarten all the way through high school. These notebooks were kindly donated by a family in Texas that used to live in the Philippines and attend our church. We passed out over 250 notebooks and we still have some more to give away this week. It was a blessing to be able to give out the notebooks and help the kids get ready for school. It starts next week.

We thank everyone for their constant prayers and support.

God Bless,

-Ptr. Matt & Rina-

VBS 2012

Last week was our annual Vacation Bible School (VBS). The theme this year was "Gold Adventure...Discovering the Rock of Ages". Even though the temperature was a scorching 95°+ throughout the week, we averaged 133 kids per day, with a grand total of 203 different kids coming through our doors to attend VBS this year. We are so thankful that each and every one of them were able to hear the clear gospel. We are also grateful for the 26 volunteers from our church who helped make this program a success.

We had a busy week full of different crafts, water games, obstacle courses, memory verses, snacks, singing, and Bible lessons. We even had a "store" in which the kids received gold coins for memorizing Bible verses, bringing friends, and for being the best listener for the day. They were able to exchange the gold coins for candy or special prizes that were graciously donated to our ministry by people from the States. The kids really enjoyed VBS this summer and many were asking if we can do it again next week. Some parents even asked if we can do it for a month!

We also praise the Lord that following our week-long VBS, 121 kids came back to church this past Sunday! We thank you for all your prayers for us and our ministry. We give glory to the Lord for the success of our VBS and we ask that you continue to pray for these kids.

God Bless,

-Ptr. Matt & Rina-
